Detroit 360 Legislative Action
Another important activity that Detroit Family Support 360o staff have been diligently pursuing has been to work closely with local, state, and federal legislators in order to gain support for the program in the present and for the future. Detroit 360o public policy coordinator, Judy Cerano, has been leading the way by meeting with law makers and spreading the word about the importance, value and need for a program such as Detroit Family Support 360o.
Gaining Momentum
In July of 2006, the Detroit Family Support 360o Project was honored by the Detroit City Council (Right). The Council recognized the Detroit 360o Project, DDI, and all partner agencies for the numerous contributions made and help given to Detroit's families with children with disabilities. The City Council also noted it's desire for the project to continue to provide personal support and services to families into the future. This stamp of approval is a great honor for the staff and partners of the Detroit 360o Project and is an affirmation of the hard work progress that has been made thus far.
More recently, Judy Cerano and Family Support Navigator Claudette Cameron had the opportunity to meet with Detroit City Council Member Martha Reeves (Left). Council Member Reeves expressed her continued support for the program and discussed the need to increase the number and scope of such programs in the city of Detroit.
